Customs Classification

TARIC

TARIC is the integrated tariff of the European Union. It extends the eight-digit Combined Nomenclature with EU-wide measures such as duties and anti-dumping duties and is ten digits long. TariffPilot takes these measures into account during classification.

Also known as: Integrated Tariff of the European Union, TARIC code

Which measures does TARIC map?

TARIC extends the Combined Nomenclature with EU-wide measures, including:

  • third-country and preferential duty rates
  • anti-dumping duties
  • tariff quotas and tariff suspensions
  • import prohibitions and restrictions

How many digits does TARIC have?

TARIC has ten digits. The first eight digits match the Combined Nomenclature; the ninth and tenth digits (TARIC subheading) encode the EU measures.

Who maintains TARIC?

TARIC is managed by the European Commission and updated continuously, because duty rates and measures change on an ongoing basis.

TARIC at TariffPilot

During classification, TariffPilot takes the measures stored in TARIC into account, so the suggestion reflects the applicable EU framework. For imports into Germany, the path leads through EZT-Online to the eleven-digit code number.
